Brand Manager & Graphic Designer


​Brand Review & Management  |  Graphic Design  |  Merchandise & Apparel Review



  • Full brand review - including creation, facilitation of face-to-face focus groups held at all Royal Australian Navy shore establishments across Australia and report recommendations based on findings to the Board of Navy Canteens;

  • Formulate and maintain the strategic direction for the brand, product range and subsidiary company’s offerings at direction of CEO Navy Canteens;

  • Develop, manage and maintain marketing and media strategies, in-line with overall business objectives and partnering with local and regional teams;

  • Provide strategic advice on corporate communications, stakeholder engagement and maintain strategic oversight of external communication;

  • Produce engaging content for publications relating to Navy Canteens initiatives, updates to operations and recognition of profit returns to sponsored RAN programs;

  • Identify and implement opportunities to build brand awareness and generate sales;

  • Review and update  ‘Salt’ line of merchandise and apparel items, source new suppliers, provide designs and seek approval from Navy Brand Manager for custom orders;

  • Attend RAN shore establishments across Australia on a regular basis to build rapport with Base Command teams, local area managers as well as corporate events and functions;

  • Manage and formulate KPIs for staff within the Marketing Unit, including identifying additional recruitment requirements and training opportunities;

  • Oversee internal platforms including regular updates to website and social media content;

  • Drive Local Area Marketing (LAM) participation including the development of promotions with outlet managers as well as updating outlet signage, and building awareness of support of community programs;

  • Use consumer and market research, product analysis, and customer feedback to recognise opportunities for advancing the brand across a range of products and categories;

  • Assist and advise with the design of the Navy Canteens App, tactical initiatives, member discounts and loyalty programs;

  • Oversee events, PR and media relations and lead projects to help raise profile;

  • Fostering relationships and partnerships with internal/external parties and agencies and identify and engage with potential suppliers, partners and/or sponsors.

  • Support outlet managers on as needed basis for sponsorship opportunities, local events, weekly specials, menu updates and special sales events as required.
